Hey readers, it's me, Gab!
Soooo I was reluctant to write a blog, because I know myself and I know I will certainly drop this in a month or so... I'm terrible at keeping any kind of journal but let's give it a try.

So why starting? Well... Most of you always ask for the same questions and as much as I love you... I'm a little fed up always answering the same things. Also, it's a fun way to share more about the books and share stuff that are mainly in my head!

So let start with the questions I answer the most...

But you're French? but you're Swiss? But you're Canadian?

Sooo, I'm born in France and I'm French to the core. I mean... I can be rude, I argument, I love the French culture and I would never survive without bread and smelly cheeses. But, once upon a time, I went to study in Switzerland and lived there for 13 years. I became an adult there, and later a mother. Switzerland is a part of who I have become, I miss living there.
In Switzerland I met a Anglo Quebecker from Montreal and we lived together there for a while, we made babies and we were happy, but I was alone a lot. He was travelling a lot and we knew we needed something else.
That's how we moved back to his country. It makes now 9 years we live in Montreal, I became Canadian and if you ask my kids, they will tell you they are Canadian, before being French. (And no they aren't Swiss, because it's not because you were born in Switzerland that you are Swiss.)

Why do you write in English?

My easiest answer is... because I've been living with an anglophone for 17 years and I don't know how to write (or have) sex in French...
The real reason is... Contemporary romance isn't really something trending in France and Quebec. The market is smaller, self publishing is not that big and writing in French is someting I haven't done in YEARS! But I'm hoping to get translated and published in French one day. Open to any collaborations!

Do you write anything else that romance?

I do.. I write poetry, a lot, but not sure if I'll ever publish them.
I've written suspense. I'm itching to explore... We'll see...

Why don't you speak about your husband and kids more?

Because I'm kind of private... You already know I met him in Switzerland and that he's Canadian. That's a lot, no?

As for my kids, I post only with their authorization. Which you can imagine is often a no!

How can I self publish my book?

Start by googling : How to self publish. Join Alessandra Torre Inkers Group on Facebook. Don't go the easy way, research if it's for you. It's hard and a lot of work... I self-publish because I'm a control freak. But I have never worked more in my life. It's your own little business. WORK.

Why don't you write fluffy romance?

Because I write what I feel. Because I don't believe love comes easy. Because the characters tell me their stories. Because I'm dark and twisted and I can't just see things being easy and loving. I'm sorry.

      Who's your favorite romance author?

What's your Starbucks drink?
